Beginner Sewing Class

This TWO day course is for complete beginners! All supplies, plus lunch and a beverage are included in the ticket price of KES 18,000.
In these two intensive sessions, let’s make a bag together! It’ll have many sturdy pockets (both inside and outside) and a zip closure. Not only will you learn sewing machine basics like threading the needle and filling the bobbin, but you’ll learn to make and attach the pockets, select decorative stitches on a bernette 37 machine and use them to embellish the outer pockets. You’ll also learn to ‘box’ the bag for it to stay upright, and how to attach a zip.

The session will be facilitated by Rohini Desai, an accomplished and award winning quilter. She’s also an accredited quilt teacher who started teaching in 2014 not only quilting but sewing small utility items. At her hands you’ll not only make something beautiful but learn a lot too! In Stitches will be supplying the bernette machines used in this class. Based in Sarit, this colorful shop is Nairobi’s favorite option for quality sewing machines and supplies.
