Tatreez Workshop
2 November @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Take part in a traditional Palestinian tatreez or cross-stitch embroidery workshop, with Palestinian visual storyteller Rasha Al Jundi, and support mutual aid efforts in besieged Gaza.
On this day, in 1917, Lord Balfour made a declaration to key Jewish zionist capitalists to hand over Palestine which was occupied by the British to them. This declaration set the tone for a series of events that resulted in the 1948 Nakba, the forced displacement of close to a million Palestinians and to every massacre that followed until the genocide in Gaza, which started in October 2023.
Rasha will share with you the history of Palestinian tatreez and how it is linked to the people’s oral history, connection to the land, society and politics. You will get a chance to learn, practice and create a small piece to keep.
