Journaling for Sanity

Working through a life change in any area of your life made the resolutions and already foresee; ‘there may be trouble ahead…’ and this year you just need to land right side up. Came back to work and your Christmas wish has not been granted…dementors still are circling your desk. You feel like being snatched up by an alien at this point might just be the holiday you need. A low-grade gloom pervades everything, a traffic smog that clouds your sunny days. You’re uninspired, you’re on edge. You want a drink, a bar room full of chocolate, a binky, and a blanket. There’s guilt and shame, the nauseating duo, but you can’t put your finger on the source of the foul odor. You want to go back to bed; you want to get up and party. You feel unloved and unlovable. You’re disgusted. In short say it with me…YOU ARE SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!

You’re ready to RE-design yourself, your life, assert mastery over the real you and you are ready to do whatever it takes to realize that life. You have TRIED to make something out of the self-help books, TED TALKS, inspirational quotes, formulas, and frameworks the Guru Pipeline is peddling and all leave you feeling like a failure as time and time again, you try this it won’t work, you try that it don’t work and you try the other and you are left defeated and exhausted. That’s what happens when you try to shove a bunch of B.S. into your LIFE that isn’t you – it poisons the possibilities.

If there is any situation that is putting your light on a dimmer and making you question your very sanity, I am going to show you how journaling can get your mind clear and you sitting pretty, a Zen Buddhist monk, as the storms of life try to batter your ship, but you keep sailing on by’.

Please do not bring your personal journals to the workshop. A simple notebook will be provided for you to take notes included in the price of the ticket.

For the longest time I lived the same life, same year, same scenarios over and over rinse wash and repeat, changing careers, having more certificates than I know what to do with or could ever use in this lifetime. I was seeking validation for my existence from the outside world. Entrepreneur, investment banker, insurance agent, interior designer, garden designer, chef, head baker, barista I could go on and tell you I am a certified “Project Management Professional” but why bother. However, it now means I can relate to anyone, I speak your language (though I have to admit the one thing that has defeated my interest is technology which probably explains a lot of my technical issues). Relationships set on fire, I’m sure my cold logic poured liberally like gravy on a Sunday roast didn’t help any of them. And the worst, thinking that this life was just something to “get through” grit your teeth never complain keep it moving all the buzz words, grit, resilience…THEN I WOKE UP!

I am a transformation junkie! I really believe anything is possible (believe me I’ve tested out my theory). I don’t focus on PSYCOLOGY, PHILOSOPHY, THE LATEST TED TALK + ART AND DESIGN and guzzle up everything I can about the world and myself because my head is in the clouds, no I am a rational idealist and that means I believe things can get better BUT there is a catch it’s in our hands to make it so (that’s the left brain right brain dance…do you salsa). For the longest time I didn’t understand what was going on around me, I felt like a human sucked into the vortex of another world so I did the work, decades of work to unravel what was what. Now I’m back, you don’t have to go down the rabbit hole and get lost like I did, you can simply trust me to guide you as I’ve more than likely been down that hole more than once and can help you right your ship and get you back sailing towards the life you want.
I am open minded. A thinker and sometimes an overthinker seeking to understand first. I embrace the new discoveries in science (after I test/rationalize them) but also believe that there is no need to reinvent the wheel. I love art with a passion but not the Rorschach variety, classical music and jazz is my thing, but 80s R&B and salsa get me moving. I am a lover of colour, good food (I can taste soul it’s my secret power) and all things design.

My life’s purpose is to help you see yourself in a new light and to help you become the best intentionally designed version of yourself. Together, I am positive, we can turn messes into miracles.
