Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet, but don’t know where to start? This series of 3 classes is well suited to beginner and intermediate students of all ages. Stitch your way to success, from simple toys to sophisticated garments, and learn new techniques along the way. Join one class or all three and you’ll soon be creating with ease. All supplies are included: a crochet hook, our handspun Rift Valley Yarn, a pattern book and stuffing for the toy.
Class 1: Basic Stitches, 13th August
Learn the chain stitch as well as how to build structure with single and double crochet stitches. The project for this class will be a cute and cozy mug warmer to keep your tea toasty.
Class 2: Magic Ring, 20th August
In this class, you’ll build a cupcake shaped pincushion/toy using increase and decrease techniques.
Class 3: Reading Patterns, 27th August
Learn the basics of written and graph patterns, and complete your very first “granny square”. This is the building block of a marvelous world of blankets, scarves, throws and more!
We can also teach private group classes, so please message us to set up a time/day! Classes are held at our retail shop in Lower Kabete, off Farasi Lane. We have a lovely cozy fire for colder days and quiet garden for the sunny times.
About the teacher: Classes are taught by the creative Hina Mehta, who has been crafting for many years, and is excited to share her love of crochet with new students.
