Beginner Dressmaking – Part 1

Have you always wanted to dip into garment making? It is so satisfying to make a dress that fits you perfectly, with pockets, and the fabric you love. In this beginner class, you will learn to sew from Loise, an experienced seamstress. This class is suited to those with a beginners knowledge of a sewing machine.

In this two part class we will learn how to make an easy, quick and very beginner-friendly summer dress. Lois will give you a hands on overview of every step in dress making process: from measurement taking and pattern making, to assembling and pressing, so you will be sure to learn a lot!

Part 1 course: Overview of materials; taking measurements, drafting a basic bodice/skirt pattern
Part 2 course: Cutting out the fabric and stitching, assembling and finishings.

Class fee: 3,000/- per person. Tools will be provided for your use but please *bring 2 meters of your own material* that you’d like to use for the dress. We will have a small selection of cotton material to choose from if you are unable to source your own. If you have a favorite dress that you’d like to copy, please bring that with you as well.
