Beginner Calligraphy Workshop

Learn the art of decorative writing. Participants will be guided through different styles like modern and traditional calligraphy, focusing on techniques for penmanship, letter formation, and flourishing. This workshop is not about perfect handwriting—it’s about fun lettering!
All materials are provided, participants will go home with a special calligraphy pen, paper and the lettering work from the class.
Workshop overview:
- The 3 Rules of Calligraphy: have fun, relax your grip, pencil everything first.
- Introduction to Cursive Penmanship: practice drills, history of cursive, forming styles
- First Project – My Name in Cursive
- Creative Cursive Lucky Dip
- Introduction to Uncial Calligraphy: the ancient, rounded, cathedral-like beauty of Uncial letters.
- Second Project – My Name in Uncial
- Creative Uncial Lucky Dip
